For the first time Ukrainians, in Ukrainian cars, in "Rallye Monte-Carlo"
The celebrations of the official start of the Lviv family crew Svitlana and Yevheniy Kravs for the winter car race of retro cars in Monte Carlo took place i
n Lviv, on Rynok Square in front of the Town Hall.

Crews of "Horbatyj Zaporozhets" from Kyiv and Ternopil started together with Lviv crew. Colleagues from the auto-moto-bicycle club "Retrovyky of Lviv", art-group "Avantiura", representatives of the Sports Department of the Lviv City Council and the Lviv Region Road Service came to send the Ukrainian crews to a long journey.

Zaporizska Poshta (design work by Andriy Pylyukh) prepared thematic memorable envelopes and postage stamps especially for the start.

Well-known Lviv collector of large-scale models Yuriy Davydov has made an exact copy of the car that will present Lviv in Monako. Modern Lviv artist Sashko Balabai specially created paintings in unique style… Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy came to congratulate on the start.

At the start of the "bugs" were accompanied by members of the German Club of fans of Zaporozhets. A new version of the famous song "Zaporozhets", written by the vocal group "Picardijska Tercia" was playing.

For the first time in last 111 years, Ukrainians in Ukrainian cars will take part in the most prestigious European car races "Rallye Monte-Carlo Classic" which will take place in late January in France and Monaco. The participation of the Ukrainian team in the "Rallye Monte-Carlo Classique-2022" is supported by the Cabinet of Ministers №34220 / 0 / 2-21 from 26.10.21.
Ukraine will be represented by five crews at the small-sized Zaporozhets: crews from Kyiv, Ternopil, Zaporizhzhia, Chernivtsi and Lviv will be part of the joint team. Lviv will be represented by the family crew of Svitlana Kravs (driver) and Yevheniy Kravs (navigator) in a 1967 car under the starting number 410.
As an exception, the Organizers (Royal Club of Monaco) allowed our national car, in honor to the 60th anniversary of the First ZAZ-965.

The patron of Ukrainian team was a great friend of Ukraine, a famous Finnish car racer, world champion in the 1981 rally, four-time winner of the Dakar Rally, Member of the European Parliament Ari Vatanen.
The competition will start on January 30 in the French city of Valence. The crews are to cover almost 1,000 kilometers of serpentines of the High Alps and finish on February 2 in the capital of Monaco - Monte Carlo. On the way to the competition, the delegation will meet with the Ukrainian diaspora in Wroclaw (Poland), Erfurt and Freiburg (Germany) and Lyon (France).
